FCC Coxy T20 Summer Slam off to a Cracking Start!!

The FCC Coxy T20 Summer Slam kicked off Sunday March 26th with the battle of Premiership Champions Classy Knights facing the Championship Champions and new member of the Premiership Warriors.  It was a spirited affair and saw the Classy Knights earn bragging rights but the Warriors have what it takes to make some noise in the upper division!  In another rivalry match-up, the Islanders took on Orlando Cricket Club, this match-up is probably the oldest of all rivalries in Central Florida.  Orlando batted first and were contained by the Islanders attack and eventually the Islanders crossed the finished line with the loss of a couple of wickets. In other matches around the league saw Roy Silva of the Rebels amass 166 against the Strykers and it was all that was required as they scored the first 200 runs on the T20 season, 231 to be specific.  In response the Strykers made it competitive but could cross 200 and lost by a sizable amount in the end.  Additionally, a vaunted Daytona team took on Falcons, Daytona has added some firepower in Vignesh RG to compliment an already deep batting line up and will be one of the favorites to make the playoffs however, the Falcons have sured up their middle order with Saqib Usher and F Kiyani who paid early dividends by taking the Falcons to a competitive total only to see Daytona coast home.

In matches featuring new teams to the FCC with VC3 and Just In Case against FCC long time members Lions and Royals, an upstart team; respectively, saw the new kids on the block edge home in the VC3 versus Lions in a low scoring match.  Whereas, Just In Case flexed their muscle to make easy work of the Royals; based on their performance, Just In Case looks like they will be a team to be reckoned with in the Championship.  Another new team in a sense, the reorganized Underdogs made easy work of the Tigers with a couple of 40’s by their middle order as they hope to build on the start to climb back to the Premiership.  In a battle of playoff qualifiers, Poinciana took the honors over the Blues in a low scoring affair due to some quick strikes and tight bowling by Poinciana.  In reply, Poinciana encountered a rocky road with loss of their opener for 9 but Kritik led them safely home with a fluent innings.
